Vehicle rental:

A wide range of vehicles are at your disposal, from compact cars to SUVs, minivans and luxury vehicles.

Daily or monthly rentals:

We offer flexible rental options, allowing customers to choose between daily, weekly or monthly rentals.

Pick-up and delivery services:

CBX Rent a Car gives you the option to pick up and return the rented vehicle at different locations, such as airports, hotels or at the address you provide us.

Insurance coverage:

We offer different types of insurance (liability, total damage, theft, etc.) to protect customers in case of accidents or incidents.

Roadside assistance:

Travel easy, knowing we offer 24-hour assistance for emergencies, such as mechanical problems, punctures or lack of fuel.

Vehicle seats for children:

When needed, we can provide you with seats for children that comply with all road safety standards.

Cleaning and maintenance service:

We ensure that all vehicles are kept in optimal condition and properly cleaned between rentals.

Loyalty programs:

We have Frequent Customer loyalty programs that offer benefits to recurring customers, such as discounts, upgrades or free services.

Travel consulting:

Don't know where to go during your time in Costa Rica? We can give you recommendations on routes, local attractions and useful tips for travel in the area.

Rental insurance

Insurance Coverage for Car Rental in Costa Rica

Basic Mandatory Coverage (CDW and TPL)

This coverage is mandatory in Costa Rica and is included in the rental rate.

Refundable Deposit:

$800 USD to $1200 USD
Shared Responsibility:
- Customer is responsible for $1,200 USD in damages to the rental car (deductible).
- The client is also responsible for 20% of damages to other persons or property.
- The insurance company covers 80% of other damages.

Restrictions:

This coverage does not exempt from the obligation to drive responsibly and follow the laws of the country.
Negligence (such as driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, or crossing rivers) voids coverage.

CDW Credit Card Coverage

Some credit cards allow you to rent a car without paying CDW insurance, since it is included in their benefits.

Mandatory:

TPL third party insurance must be paid by the customer.
In case of an accident:

The customer will pay 100% of the damage to the rental car and may request reimbursement to the credit card.

Requirements for the use of credit card insurance:
- Pay for TPL insurance in full version (basic + full).
- Deposit $1,500 USD.
- Pay for all damages caused via the credit card.
Note: Bank letter is not required.

Restrictions:

As with the other coverages, negligence (irresponsible conduct) eliminates coverage and mandates full payment for damages.

Full Cover

Additional coverage is highly recommended because of the costs it can avoid in the event of a NON-NEGLIGENT incident.

Refundable Deposit:

$10000 USD
Benefits:
- 0.00 deductible for damages to the rental car.
- 0% liability for damages to third parties and property.
